GCMHP conducted a psychosocial support session, designed as a safe space for dialogue, interaction, and self-expression, titled "Boosting Confidence and Positive Thinking." Forty adolescents participated in the event, which was hold as part of the project ""Improving the Availability of Youth and their Caregivers to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Quality Services in Gaza Strip." in partnership with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation - Enabel, and funded by the Belgian Government.
The session aimed to help participants boost their self-confidence and address negative thoughts in a more positive and realistic manner, while also enabling them to express their emotions and recognize their strengths and capabilities.
Through interactive activities, including confidence-building exercises, reframing negative thoughts into positive ones, drawing emotions, and creating a "Tree of Strength", participants were able to express themselves and discover their unique strengths, values, and aspirations.
In a supportive atmosphere, the session encouraged the adolescents to engage and interact, helping to foster positive thinking, psychological resilience, and a sense of capability in facing challenges.
Because self-confidence sometimes begins with a safe space... and a positive word can be the start of a greater change.
