GCMHP in collaboration with UNMAS and Save the Children, conducted a training course titled: "Common Mental Health Disorders in Children and Adults: Detection, Referral, Stress Management, and Self-Care." The course was attended by 22 facilitators from partner organizations.
The course aims to enhance the participants' knowledge and skills in mental health and psychosocial support by familiarizing them with common mental health disorders in children and adults, early detection and identification mechanisms, and referral principles and standards—including the referral criteria adopted by GCMHP.
The course also addresses the topics of psychological stress and stress management, while raising awareness about the importance of self-care and its role in maintaining the mental health and well-being of humanitarian and community workers.
This training is part of GCMHP’s efforts to build the capacity of staff in partner organizations and enhance their ability to identify mental health needs and facilitate appropriate referrals, thereby contributing to improved access to mental health and psychosocial support services for target groups.
