“GCMHP continues to provide psychological first aid services to displaced families in Gaza Strip”

  • Previews 36

GCMHP continues to provide psychological first aid services to displaced families through its field teams deployed in displacement camps across Gaza Strip, as part of its ongoing efforts to respond to the psychological and humanitarian needs of people affected by the crisis.

These interventions aim to provide initial psychological support to individuals and families by offering a safe space to listen to them, helping them regain a sense of security and reassurance, alleviating stress and psychological pressures, and connecting them with available services that meet their needs.

The field teams work to enhance families' ability to cope with the current circumstances, support family and social cohesion, and empower individuals to deal with daily challenges and regain their sense of agency in making decisions and continuing their lives despite the difficult situation.

The interventions also include identifying cases that require specialized psychological services and referring them to GCMHP centers for further assessment and appropriate care from specialized staff, according to treatment plans that take into account the needs of each case, thus ensuring continuity of support and enhancing the chances of recovery.
